Samsara, what a weird word, I have to use my Chinese dictionary to find it. But at least, I know it now; it means that the indefinitely repeated cycles of birth. Really, I believe in it, I believe that I have a “before-life”; it’s just that I don’t remember it.
—First thought
I believe samsara; maybe it’s some kind of religion rules or anything but no matter what, it’s something that I believe in. They can come in all kind of forms: animals, plants… Or anything. Once when I was reading The Diaries of Anne Frank, I believe strongly that I was Anne who returns to life. It was naïve when I think back, but sure, everybody need to believe something to believe in, if we don’t have one, we will lost our hopes to live.
Sitting on the hill that’s full of grass, looking up at that bright blue sky, have my diary opened up in front of me… How can everything seems so normal when somebody had just gone? I don’t get it. When I just got that message from his wife, I was shocked, all I can say, “Oh, my.” Words simply failed me; my brain went totally blank… How can a kind person just “puff” and gone? It’s just simply untrue, unreal, doesn’t make any sense… Really, I just met him a week ago, although he’s in an emergency room, but he can talk, he can smile and everything, it was so normal, like a human being. But now… It’s not that I’m so close to him and everything, it’s just that he’s the first person I know to leave to another place, not even for my grandparents, they are so healthy, and live well. I never felt what “death” is taste like… Shaking… Failing… Mad… Scary… Just one word? Or all those words together? Emotions are a complicate and scary thing, we may never know…
Just like a kite flying without a string, without any worries, without any after thoughts, just fly, through those white clouds and gone, fly high away to another unknown world… Who knows how many kites are lost everyday? How many families are heartbreaking everyday? That amount nobody will know from heart, not just like plain numbers. People are greedy, nobody will understand how hard to let go a kite except someone who once loved them. His wife was shaking not to let her tears out when she told us, that was a true example of how to being strong, how to give up when you have to, how to remember someone by heart…
All I can say is get on with your life; the person will live, not as a human being but in your hearts for forever. Don’t hold on the past, look ahead, everything will be waiting for you. Along with all those, we need to enjoy our lives. When you finally realize that, you have ruined your life too far. And remember you may never know, everything could happen, just like samsara.
