Beijing and I by the year 2008
The Olympic Games comes from the Anciently Greece. Now, Beijing will hold the Olympic Games 29th by the year 2008. I think it will be successful and make a good winning.
Beijing is a city which has a very long history. It has so many antiquities. Such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven and so on. They would attract many people from other countries to come to Beijing.
Beijing is also a prosperous city. The traffic in Beijing is very convenient. The roads could extend in all directions. It’s an advantage for Beijing to hold the Olympic Games. But every day there are many traffic accidents. They are very horrible.
The environment in Beijing is not very good now. But it’s getting better. I believe there will be no more pollution in Beijing by the year 2008. The sky will be blue, the air will be clear, the water will be limpid, the trees will be green, and the whole city will be more beautiful.
We have many ways to protect the environment. For example, tree planting is a very good idea. We can plant many tree around Beijing. They could prevent the sand to come into the city. I like tree planting. I have plant two trees up to now. I planted them in the suburbs. I think it’s interesting and very significant.
I will be 18 years old by 2008. I’d like to be a volunteer at that time. I can help foreigners to find their way to wherever they want. Just like the gymnasiums or something. And I can propagandize our city to them.
If I want to be a volunteer, I need to study hardly from now, especially on studying English. There are many people in Beijing are studying English now. Because English is a very popular language and there are so many people speak English in the world.
A volunteer must have nice characters, as friendliness, responsible and so on. I can’t imagine someone who is very rudely or something to be a volunteer and serve people. We need to be more politely.
2008 is the year belonging to Beijing. Let’s look forward to it.
