据我所知，这位英国才女型歌手从1990年出道迄今为止出过三张专辑：《Beverley Craven》，《Love Scenes》，《Mixed Emotions》，可能还有其他的合集或者精选集就不得而知了。几年前在一个五大三粗的男性外国友人处听到她的第一张同名专辑，开始是被她的声音吸引: 干净，内敛，低回婉转间却又透露着激情。仔细听来感觉风格有点像国内的林忆莲，歌曲主题总是女人心事。专辑的第一首歌Promise Me讲述女人对感情的坚持和渴望承诺的心情，Holding On是坠入爱河患得患失的小女子心态，然后是讲述女人之间友谊的Woman to Woman，听过赵薇的“我和上官燕”的可以比价一下，其实没有可比性，只不过都是讲女人之间故事的歌曲。专辑中我喜欢的另一首歌是Memories，歌词的切入点很有意思，显示了女人母性的一面，歌词也很温情。我发现自己挺喜欢有诗意的歌曲，当然旋律得优美，歌者得不让我讨厌，这是起码的。之前贴出的几张专辑也都具备这种特点，也可能是我自己想象力太丰富了，自说自话。不管怎样，这首歌很好听。（本想传上来的，可大小超标了，所以有兴趣的可以找来听一听）
另外值得一提的是Joey这首歌，如果不知道还以为又是首情歌，其实也是情歌，不过是歌手写给自己的爱犬Joey的。如今每次听这首歌，我总是会想到兜兜/斗斗。我虽然写不出动人的歌献给他，可没少放过这歌给他听，一边还放纵他大嚼夹心牛肉棒。希望他在新家过得开心就好。多说一句，也是从这首歌可以看出女人，不管外国的还是中国的，都是多感的，连写给狗狗的歌都能这么细腻动情。还有我那友人也让我意外，那么粗线条的一个人居然宣称他最喜欢在恋爱的时候一个人静静地欣赏B.C。
Beverley Craven的歌如同她的人一样给人知性又感性的印象，不过她不像林忆莲有李宗盛这么个音乐奇才给她撑腰（虽然后来也是劳燕分飞收场），所以时间久了在创作上难免有些“捉襟见肘”。听她后来的两张专辑总觉平平，没有太多新意。只有《Mixed Emotions》中的Tick Tock有点意思，透露着女人对时光流逝却把握不住的无奈，仔细听歌曲末尾的音乐部分，有跟着那轻灵跳跃的旋律滑入漩涡，时间漩涡的感觉。其实这首歌相当有现实意义，听这首歌会想到《BJ单身日记》里那个相貌平庸，每日在减肥和保住男朋友之间苦苦挣扎的Jones，据说这样的职业女性在英国数以百万计。这种“时间恐慌症”也已经蔓延到国内，报章杂志常提到的“剩女”估计也多受此困扰。
