                     [color=#9932CC][size=4]hui的Daily Wisdom[/size][/color]
  [color=#6495ED]虽说名字是关于每天的“智慧”的，其实这里就是我放我的每天的随笔，也有一些是关于人生真理的，但我本人觉得并不是很深奥，只是用谚语和现实生活中结合起来。换句话来说，也就是我的一些小原创。基本上每个星期就会有一篇，有时候会使全英文的，或者是中文结合的。先不说了，就请大家欣赏吧~~:21: [/color]

1．[b]Only Connect[/b]
  Norah Jones made me realize the connection between…Almost everything.
  “Joan of Arcadia”, a modernized series about the old-fashioned Joan of Arc. About a girl who was once in France and listened God’s advise to save her country, but she got burned because she’s been accused to be a witch. In the modern one, the real Joan that’s really like us, the teens, she’s following God’s directions to connect. To connect between people, between the worlds that are unknown.
  A simple ending, a simple song by Norah Jones, enriched the meaning of the whole new episode, be true to yourself.
  No matter how you hide, how you avoid yourself, the true person is down inside your heart. Normal is not an option when you know surely that you are not, stand out isn’t a decision when you know you don’t belong. Only one thing is right, that’s to be yourself, to let you know you are what you are, nobody else will care, except yourself.
  I’m not that deep so I can understand the literature they are talking on the TV, but I can see, connection is not only about human and the supernatural, it’s the thing that’s between us, inside this miniature universe that we created among each other, each us is a planet, so far away, but yet not so far away…
  Everything is connected, everyone has something that shined deep in our heart, a spectrum, we might just don’t realize it, and it takes someone, somehow to find out. Connection is to use that part of you to connect with somebody else, to help you to know your true self.
  TV may not be bad every time, but when some one on the TV that shows you what’s life is all about, you will know you are not as simple as you thought. “Joan of Arcadia” may remind you the part of you that you’ve never know. Maybe the non-Christian wouldn’t like that show, but it’s certainly a great way to know how the people around you worked.
  I’m not being religious or anything, but I believe, someday, somehow, I will suddenly realize that somebody is watching over me. You will never know, it could happen.

2. [b]We All Are Human Beings[/b]
  The movie “The Day After Tomorrow” let us human beings truly understand what will happen to us in couple of centuries, or even nearer than we thought.
A disaster movie is never my taste; I never felt like watching somebody die or trying to survive just to live a little longer. It’s always a pain in the heart to just watch somebody die although it’s just a show, but this is what human being is about: compassion.
  Unlike other disaster movies, this one is more like a reality TV, everything is true, but it’s just going to happen in a matter of time. I like the movie because it shows a strong message: don’t think third-world countries can’t do much, but when they did it, it will surprise the world. But seeing the whole United States being evacuated does not really made me feel better, because it’s about the whole Earth’s northern hemisphere being hit by another ice age. Yes, the human kind survived the last ice age, but can we survive the next one? Human beings tends to grow more tender than before, we tends to get spoiled by all the inventions we made over the centuries, and if one day, all of that has gone, what are we going to depend on? Nothing else but ourselves.
  I often questioned myself, why should we have races and language difference? Then there wouldn’t be discrimination in the world, everyone united together. But, that can’t be true, the color of people’s skin, the language they spoke, made a lot of difference. For example, every country in the world don’t want to have any trouble with US, because it’s too powerful to beat, just like the old Chinese phrase, if you can’t beat them, join them. For African countries, every country doesn’t want to have anything with them either, why? Because they afraid they would want aid supplies from them, is that fair? Absolutely not. But what we can do? Not much.
  Everything changed since the 80’s. Have you ever heard the world aid song which sang by many famous singers? They raised a lot of money and aids support around the world just to help Ethiopians. And this year, they did the same; a new generation of singers re-sang the famous song: “Do They Know It’s Christmas”. Why did they do that? Because we are human beings, we can’t just watch a country’s people die and do nothing; we all have compassions, no matter what.
No matter what color our skin is, what language we speak, we all are united by heart, human beings.

3. [b]Pain[/b]
Think, think, think,
my head hurts.
beat, beat, beat.
My heart aches.
tear, tear, tear.
Eyes are tired.
pain, pounding pain.
life is too much
drip, drip, drip.
My blood seeps.
fly, fly, fly.
drugs take affect.
sip, drink, sip.
vodka, numbed pain.
pounding, pounding, pounding.
After effects.
Why, why, why,
keep this routine?
Cutting, dripping
silent release

4. [b]Autumn Morning[/b]
Walking to greet the day
a yawn escapes my mouth.
Looking out the window
to see birds heading south.
Leaves of orange and red
are dancing with the wind.
The sunrise still bright
always makes me grin.
Newly formed frost
blankets the grass.
It shimmers like crystal
as the sunbeams pass.
The rain may fall
and the snow will soon arrive.
But I love the autumn days,
may its beauty thrive.

5. [b]My Room[/b]
Stressed.
Weary.
Need quiet
Craving silence.
A place just for me.
Sanctuary.
My temple.
Four walls.
Bed.
Dresser.
Just a room.
but perhaps not.
It’s my own retreat.
Far from the world.
My own rules,
no wars.
Peace.
just me.
Life makes sense,
no tasks to do.
Please only myself.
Don’t let me out.
I’m happy,
for once.
Free.

6. [b]The History of Warfare in the World[/b]
Sticks and stones are how we fight
Using them along with might
No other weapons around
We just use what we have found
Swords and armor are how we fight
Shields and chain mail work just right
Defending our king and his heir
Amputations and blood are everywhere
Guns and cannons are how we fight
With red and blue uniforms that shine so bright
Sound bugles and drums for greater land
On fields of grass, snow, and sand
Planes and bombs are how we fight
Attacking enemies from greater heights
Air force and navy are stronger now
Flights and motors are really how
Nuclear bombs and weapons are how we fight
A glorious destruction of green light
A single missile can steamroll cities
Maybe the whole world can survive longer than fifties
Sticks and stones are how we fight
Using them along with might
No other weapons around
We just use what we have found

Joan of Arc
we have a house play based on that.
it';s really religious~well, i was thinking to become a christian as my parents didn';t like the idea so i didn';t insist.
well, sometimes u don';t need to be that religious to believe in god. i mean, i believe in god and i go to chapel and pray but i am not a christian.
well, just my thoughts about religion. =)

hui,我喜欢那首The History of Warfare in the World,否定之否定规律，很有意思。感觉要是在meter和rhythm上再整齐一点就更完美了（第一段比较整齐）。不过，评论总比写容易，呵呵，我可做不到这么好。总之，鼓掌献花 =）
关于The Day After Tomorrow,也许吧，有一天地球会遭遇这种灾难，但绝不会遭遇得这么浪漫。电影犯了常识性错误：水变成冰体积是要膨胀的。大量的海水结冰后，地基将被摧毁，到时候，地面可是一片废墟了……

well, about that rhyme, I nearly invented a word, but I thought I';d better change it, so I did~~
The Day After Tomorrow is a powerful movie, but what you said is totally true, I missed that part too. Just hope it won';t get more worse in our life time~~
