我对有一位楼主关于Into the west 的歌词有所怀疑,在此我把我收集到的对仗工正的给大家看看如何：

      这是阿拉贡唱给爱尔温听的，所以充满悲伤与遗憾，激情与爱恋，非常感人。也许正因为这一点打动了奥斯卡的评委，夺得最佳背景音乐奖。
    精灵爱尔温因爱上了人类国王阿拉贡而失去了去西方的机会，无法乘灰船踏上去西方之路。因此阿拉贡为她惋惜而为她唱了这首歌。

它读起来更像一首诗。
诗意化的语句，诗意化的音乐。完美至极。自然，may it be 也是同样完美的。

个人认为你这里的歌词有些错误~~如 ：
You sweet and wetting hair，应为：Your sweet and weary head.  意为：你柔美而疲倦的面容。
Why do the wide gones call  应为：Why do the white gulls Call?意为：为什么那些白色的海鸥在尽情叫着？
Are cross the sea 应为：Across the sea, 意为：横穿海面
All bulb rises应为：A pale moon rises.意为：一轮皎洁的明月升起。
Don't will turn，To sail the glass
应为：And all  will turn，to silver glass.  意为：然后一切都将会变成，银色的犹如玻璃的波光粼粼的水面
Also is pass 应为：All souls pass. 意为：所有的灵魂飘过
Hope face 应为：Hope fade. 意为：希望破灭
Out of the memory in time 应为：Out of the meomory and time 意为：失去了记忆与时间
Wait you is calling 应为：White shore is falling  意为：白色的海岸在坠落
You are doubt lead to end  应为：You and me will meet again. 意为：你与我还会再相见
后面的几处与前文一样。
还想纠正一点是：虽然没有明确的资料证明这首歌是谁为谁唱得，但不可能是阿拉贡，大部分资料同意这首歌是给去灰港的精灵们唱的，表达了对中洲的留念与想留在中洲的精灵的思念。
很抱歉给你提出了这么多错误，但是，我们既然是给大家提供资料就要有正确完整的，是吗。请你原谅。

多谢绿叶公主海琳丝黛尔小姐的指出，但是就想你说的还没有明确的资料证明这首歌是谁为谁唱的。但版本不同意义就不一样了。

还有Why do the wide gones call、 Are cross the sea（所有的船都去了西方）、 All bulb rises(所有的船灯都亮起）、 Don't will turn（不会再回来）、To sail the glass、Also is pass（都过去了）、Wait you is calling（等待你的人们依旧在呼唤）都指船西去可爱尔温没法乘
Hope face 译为渴望的脸
Out of the memory in time 译为记忆马上在脑中消失
You are doubt lead to end  译为无疑你的生命已到终点
不知绿叶公主海琳丝黛尔小姐是否赞同？

你的想法是对的，但是确确实实歌里是按我哪个版本唱的~~但是联系上下文来说（怎么感觉我在分析课文）还是我从电影上抄下来的那个版本较通顺一些，如果你有时间的话，重新听一听Into the west,两个版本认真比较一下，我那个还是比较正确的~~

我觉得是唱给弗拉多听的！！！比如这句“You have come to journey’s end”和“All of your fear will pass away.”分明是告诉弗拉多魔戒之程已经结束，这次旅程所带给他的伤痛，也会在到达西方后痊愈！！！
    还有这句“To silver glass.A light on the water” silver glass托尔金在最后也有提到：弗拉多躺在通往西方的灰船上，天空下起雨，与打在船上，弗拉多仿佛又回到了在老汤姆.邦巴迪尔家住的夜晚——与打在银色的玻璃上！而 silver glass就是银色的玻璃，所以这首歌就是唱给弗拉多听的，以及那些离开中洲的精灵！！！

    我很遗憾与你产生分歧。但是，既然我发帖了那我一定是听了，而且非常多遍，且反复对较，否则这歌词怎么出来的呢？再说，音（意）相同总比通顺好（也不见得嘛，得多学点英语了）。你说呢？

唉唉，英语不好真头疼啊。

Mrs.potter的版本可能与Calaquendi的意思比较符合。

本人也有意向！可还坚持！

我英语不好，可是我听的时候听到的是小伊那个版本的，为什么呢？？？有两个版本吗？？？

这首歌听的时候觉得有些感伤~
又有些听起来觉得未来美好的感觉~
